Chief Counsel, Legal Affairs & Risk Management
Cristina Wheat is Chief Counsel for the Ochsner Health System. Cris started her professional career as a medical technologist before changing course to attend Tulane Law School. After receiving her J.D., Cris was in private practice, with a focus on medical and healthcare litigation. In 1999, she made the transition from outside counsel to in-house for the Ochsner system, where she now heads the Department of Legal Affairs and Risk Management.
