Chief Executive Officer – Ochsner Medical Center
As CEO-Ochsner Medical Center, Robert (Rob) Wolterman has responsibility for Ochsner Medical Center, Ochsner’s flagship hospital. He also maintains administrative responsibility for the Ochsner Group Practice in New Orleans.
Mr. Wolterman originally joined the Ochsner Baptist Medical Center team as Vice President of Operations in April 2007 and was named Chief Executive Officer at the facility in May 2008. In 2011, he was named CEO, New Orleans Community Hospitals and served in that capacity through September, 2012.
Rob was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. From there, he went on to earn his Master of Health Administration and Master of Business Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati.
In July 1998, Rob moved to New Orleans to complete his Administrative Fellowship at Browne-McHardy Clinic. Upon completion of his fellowship, Rob remained with Browne-McHardy as Manager of Business Development and then as Director of Operations. He joined Ochsner in February 2002 as Manager of Business Development. Rob has served in several other roles at Ochsner including Director of New Orleans Satellite Operations, Assistant Vice President of Cardiology and Radiology and as Vice President of Clinical Operations at Ochsner Medical Center. In addition to his responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer at Ochsner Baptist, Rob served as Interim Chief Executive Officer of Ochsner Medical Center-West Bank.
Rob is currently a member of the Executive Board for the Boy Scouts of America Southeast Louisiana Council, and is a member of the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce. He also has volunteered at Children’s Hospital and participated in local rebuilding efforts in the New Orleans area. Rob has been involved over the years in a variety of community activities including Young Leadership Council (YLC) and Leadership Jefferson.
Rob is the youngest of nine children. He and his wife, Cheri, have two sons, Brody and Cooper, and reside in Metairie.
