Celiac disease is an autoimmune condition triggered by consumption of gluten, which is
primarily found in foods containing wheat, barley or rye. People with celiac disease who eat foods
containing gluten experience an immune reaction that causes damage to the surface of the small
intestine and interferes with absorption of key nutrients, depriving the body of vital nourishment.
However, a gluten free diet can reverse the damage and restore balance to your digestive system.
