  • Monday to Friday; on call requirements approximately every 3 weeks

Intensive Care Unit
Unit Director: Jo Ann Cardaro, RN

  • Adult critical care, inpatient
  • 3 beds with 1 used as an isolation room
  • Specialize in care of patients with multi-system organ failure, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, respiratory failure, and care of patients post-operatively
  • 12 hour shifts with every other weekend off
  • Flow sheet documentation with some electronic components

Ochsner Medical Center - Kenner

Emergency Unit
Unit Director: Jim House, RN

  • Level II ED
  • 14 treatment rooms
  • Specialize in all patient populations presenting with any diagnosis throughout the lifespan
  • Manual documentation with electronic coming in 2009
  • Various 12 hour shifts with every other weekend off
  • ALOS: 2.3 hours

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Unit Director: Reginald Vicks, RN, BSN, MBA

  • Adult critical care, inpatient
  • 16 private rooms
  • Specialize in care of medical, surgical and cardiac patients
  • 12 hour shifts with every other weekend off
  • Electronic with some manual documentation
  • ALOS – 3 to 5 days

Emergency Department

  • Fast paced Level III ED
  • 9 treatment rooms
  • Specialize in all patient populations presenting with any diagnosis throughout the lifespan
  • Manual documentation system
  • ALOS: 2.5 hours

Intensive Care Unit
Unit Director: Adele Dantin, RN

  • Adult and Pediatric critical care, inpatient
  • 2 private rooms
  • Specialize in care of patients with Chest pain - R/O MI, CHF, Uncontrolled HTN, and Uncontrolled DM
  • 12 hour shifts with every other weekend off
  • Flow sheet documentation
  • ALOS – 36 hours

Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank

  • Monday to Friday – 6:30 am to 3:30 pm with on-call requirements

  • All private rooms, 3 nurses’ stations
  • 16 critical care rooms and 16 stepdown rooms
  • Specialize in care of patients with myocardial infarctions, cardiogenic shock, severe heart failure, cardiothoracic surgery, ventricular assist devices, and pre and post heart transplant
  • 12 hour shifts with every other weekend off
  • Flow sheet documentation with some electronic components
  • ALOS – 5 days

  • 37 treatment rooms, 4 infusion chairs, 2 minor treatment rooms

  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
    Unit Director: Anita Campbell, RN

    • Adult critical care, inpatient
    • 32 private rooms, 3 nurses’ stations
    • Specialize in care of patients with multi-system organ failure, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, respiratory failure, and care of patients post-operatively for coronary artery bypass, insertion of ventricular access devices, transplants, and neurosurgery
    • 12 hour shifts with every other weekend off
    • Flow sheet documentation with some electronic components
    • ALOS – 4.5 days
