  • Specialize in care of patients in pre-op holding along with post-anesthesia and post-sedation recovery
  • Monday to Friday: 6:00 am to 3:45 pm for pre-op and then to 7:00 pm for PACU; on-call requirements

  • Monday to Friday – 6:30 am to 5:00 pm with on-call requirements

Ochsner Medical Center - Kenner

Endoscopy Unit

 

  • GI Procedural area (infant to geriatrics)
  • 2 rooms
  • Sedation
  • Specialize in care of patients having EGDs and Colonoscopies
  • Monday to Friday – 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with on-call requirements

Outpatient Surgery Unit

  • Perioperative area; outpatient (infant to geriatrics)
  • 23 beds
  • Specialize in general surgery, chest and vascular surgery, gynecological, orthopedics, podiatry, ENT, plastics, dental and urology
  • Monday to Friday 6:00 am to 6:30 pm with on-call requirements
  • Manual documentation
  • ALOS – 3 hours

  • Monday to Friday 6:30 am to 3 pm and 11 am to 7:30 pm; on-call requirements

Ochsner St. Anne General Hospital

Surgery Unit

 

  • Perioperative area (infant to geriatrics)
  • 3-OR suites, 1-endoscopy suite, 1-cysto suite, cath lab
  • Specialize in general surgery, orthopedics, Ophthamology, and ENT
  • M-F 6:30am-3:00pm; on-call requirements include every 3rd weekend plus 6-7 scheduled weeknights per month

 

Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank

Endoscopy Unit

 

  • Perioperative area; inpatient (infant to geriatrics)
  •  3 interview rooms and 2 testing rooms
  • Specialize in patient preparation before surgery or diagnostic procedures
  • Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 5:00 pm; on-call requirements to support Endoscopy
  • Electronic and manual documentation
  • ALOS - 1 hour

Same Day Surgery Unit

  • Perioperative area, Inpatient (infants to geriatrics)
  • 15 beds
  • Specialize in pre-op and post op care of patients undergoing outpatient surgery and diagnostic procedures.
  • Monday to Friday 5:30am to 630 PM with various 8 hour shift rotations, on call requirements.

  • ALOS- 2-6 hours.

Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans

Day of Surgery Care Unit

 

  • Perioperative area (infant to geriatrics)
  • 18 pre-op and 15 post op rooms
  • Specialize in care of patients prior to going to surgery and final recovery prior to going home
  • 4, 8, 9, 10, and 12 hour shifts with every 3 months weekend call
  • Electronic documentation
  • ALOS – 8 hours

Endoscopy Unit

  • GI Procedural area (infant to geriatrics)
  • 16 rooms
  • 30 admit and recovery beds
  • Sedation
  • Specialize in care of patients having EGDs, Colonoscopies, ERCPs, and EUS
  • On-call about 3 days per month with every 12 to 13 weeks for weekend call
  • Electronic documentation

PACU Unit

  • Perioperative area (infant to geriatrics)
  • 20 bays
  • Specialize in care of patients with post-anesthesia and post-sedation recovery
  • 4, 8, 9, 10, and 12 hour shifts with once a month weekend call

  • ALOS – 2 to 24 hours

Pre-op Center Unit

  • Perioperative area (infant to geriatrics)
  • Central clinic with 4 exam rooms and telephonic screening
  • Electronic documentation

Radiology Observation Care

  • Radiology procedural unit (infant to geriatrics)
  • 3 Fluoroscopy rooms, 1 CT room, and 3 Recovery bays
  • Provide assistance with procedures and sedation in all radiology areas
  • Specialize in angiography, biopsies, declotting, and drainage tubes
  • On-call about 3 days per month with every 12 to 13 weeks for weekend call
  • Manual documentation
  • ALOS - 3 hours

  • 22 OR suites divided into 3 cores on 2nd floor
  • 6 OR suites divided into 2 cores on 1st floor
  • Specialize in general surgery, pediatric, bariatrics, orthopedics, neurosurgical, CTS, PV, Transplant, urological, colon/rectal, GYN robotics, Ophthamology, planstics and ENT
  • 8 to 12 hour shifts; on-call requirements vary per service
