Administrative Nursing Fellowship Concentration

Program Structure

Ochsner is proud to offer 1 to 2 Nursing Fellowships per year. Over the 12-month period, the Fellows have the opportunity to rotate through and experience all aspects of the hospitals, clinics, corporate office and any of the other entities in which interest is expressed. Fellows in the Nursing Concentration are exposed to a broad range of hands-on experiences that will prepare them for a successful career in healthcare leadership. Dawn Pevey-Mauk, RN, MBA, Chair of Senior Nurse Executive Committee, and CNO/COO Ochsner Medical Center Baton Rouge will serve as the Mentor and Program Director. The Program utilizes the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) competencies to guide program content and ensure a successful learning application.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current Louisiana license required upon hire
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

Must hold or in the process of completion at least one of the following credentials:

  • Master of Science in Nursing
  • Master in Healthcare Administration or Master in Health Services Administration
  • Master in Business Administration Master in Public Health
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

Eligibility for Fellowship Concentration

The prospective Nursing Fellow must have completed the didactic portion of an accredited graduate program in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or related field. The Nursing Fellowship runs July through June.
