Dr. David Kitchell graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maryland-College Park. He then received his medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia in 2011. Dr. Kitchell was elected to the AOA Medical Society during his studies. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center Moses/Weiler Campus in the Bronx, NY.
Dr. Kitchell is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has been on staff at Ochsner since 2015 and practicing Hospital Medicine since 2014. Dr. Kitchell serves as the Unit Based Medical Director of the Cardiac Medical Unit. He has a special clinical interest in the management of acute inpatient cardiac conditions, as well as residency and medical student education.
Dr. Kitchell is a foster parent for at-risk dogs for the Take Paws Organization in New Orleans, Louisiana.
