Jaime Morataya Mejia, MD

Jaime Morataya, MD, specializes in pediatric hospital medicine at Ochsner Health. Dr. Morataya received his medical degree from Universidad Jose Matias Delgado Escuela de Medicina in El Salvador. Following this, he completed his residency at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Dr. Morataya is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. He has five years of experience working in the pediatric emergency department as an attending and two years of pediatric intensive care experience as a fellow. He likes to incorporate his previous experience in these areas into the management of patients admitted to the pediatric unit. Dr. Morataya interested in providing a holistic approach to treating children and their families during their pediatric unit stay. He is active in teaching residents and medical students and is interested in improving transitional care and discharge planning.
