Joseph Tarsia, MD, practices vascular neurology at Ochsner Health. Dr. Tarsia was born and raised in New York and completed an undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore in 2005. He graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine in 2010 then stayed at Tulane to complete a five-year combined neurology and internal medicine residency program. He went on to complete a vascular neurology fellowship at Harvard Medical School-Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Tarsia joined the Ochsner Neurovascular Program in 2016. He is board-certified in both neurology and internal medicine. He takes an active role in the cerebrovascular education curriculum of the Ochsner Neurology Residency Program and is the program director of the Vascular Neurology Fellowship Program. He is a certified hypertension specialist and is active in the Ochsner Digital Hypertension Program which leverages modern technology and a team based approach to achieve excellent blood pressure control in the fight against cerebrovascular disease and prevention of stroke. He is also co-director of the Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy clinic a dedicated pathway for patients with this disease to offer the latest available diagnostic and treatment modalities and opportunities to participate in clinical research.
