2009 Tree of Life
As the holidays approach, we invite you to brighten the season for family members, friends, and colleagues by honoring or memorializing someone special through the Tree of Life. At a tree-decorating ceremony, ornaments bearing the name(s) of the person(s) you honor or memorialize were read and placed on the tree.
- Tree of Life New Orleans is scheduled for Friday, December 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Atrium Lobby of Ochsner Medical Center. The new Orleans Tree of Life is dedicated in memory of Dr. Clifford H. Van Meter, Jr. (right) to benefit the Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Patient Assistance Fund.
- Tree of Life Northshore is scheduled for Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lobby of Ochsner Health Center - Covington. The North Shore Tree of Life is dedicated in honor of Dr. Roy Gregory and Dr. Gerald Keller (below) to benefit cancer services at Ochsner Health Center - Covington.
- Tree of Life Baton Rouge is scheduled for Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. in the Lobby of Ochsner Health Center - Baton Rouge.
- and a second Baton Rouge ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. in the Lobby of Ochsner Medical Center-Baton Rouge. The Baton Rouge Tree of Life ceremonies will benefit the Baton Rouge Patient Assistance Fund.

25th Annual Ochsner Run

Save the Date! 25th Annual Ochsner Run on Saturday, March 27, 2010! The one-mile fun run and 5K-race will be held along the Mississippi River levee, directly behind Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans (1514 Jefferson Hwy, New Orleans, LA). Following the race, participants will enjoy the "Rhythm & Sole" party with food from New Orleans' best restaurants, soft drinks, beer, and live music. Questions? 2009 Party 4 Peds
2009 party 4 peds - Saturday, October 3, 2009!
On Saturday, October 3, 2009, from 4pm - 7pm, Ochsner, Capital One Bank and event co-chairs Malin Maitrejean and Maribeth McNamara hosted "Party 4 Peds" for local families as it transformed its Children's Health Center at 1315 Jefferson Highway into a fun-filled, family fundraiser for Ochsner Pediatrics including the Pediatric Family Assistance Fund and the Reach Out and Read Program.
This action-packed party included entertainment by Radio Disney, refreshments by local restaurants, and entertainment including large inflatable play stations, face painters, caricature artists, jewelry & key chain making, t-shirt art, and more. For adults, there was a live auction featuring two suite tickets to the October 20th Miley Cyrus concert in New Orleans, and a silent aution with weekend get-a-ways, gining gift certificates and more. Palettes & Palates
On Friday, June 5th 2009, Ochsner Health System hosted Palettes & Palates. The event was a great success, raising over $155,000 to benefit the renovation and expansion of the Level III Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Ochsner Medical Center. The Ochsner NICU has the staff and equipment to care for very sick infants, newborns who need immediate surgery and those who weigh less than 1,000 grams (2.2 pounds).
Event Co-Chairs Dr. Harley and Susan Ginsberg would like to thank all those who supported this much needed expansion by participating in this elegant event, which featured a wine tasting as well as an art and wine auction at the beautiful home of Bobby and Lori Savoie.
Patron Party Co-Chairs Pamela Steeg and Lori Savoie hosted an exclusive patron party from 7-8 p.m. featuring sparkling wine courtesy of Schramsberg and hors d'oeuvres prepared by The Ritz-Carlton. Patrons were able to preview the beautiful art and exquisite wines available at auction before general ticket holders joined in at 8 p.m. for an evening of wine tasting, delicious delicacies, and a unique auction offering something for everyone's taste.
