Dr. Burshell graduated magna cum laude from Temple University Medical School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency training at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, where he served as Chief Resident. He completed his endocrinology fellowship Stanford University Hospital in Stanford, California. Dr. Burshell is board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology and has been on staff at Ochsner since 1981. His special interests include metabolic bone disease, osteoporosis, and diabetes outcomes.
