Dr. Brown earned his medical degree from Tulane and completed his internship and residency at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center in California. He completed his fellowship in hematology and oncology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Brown is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology and has been on staff at Ochsner since 1981. His numerous leadership positions have included the New Orleans Hospice Board of Directors, the Board of Directors of the Greater New Orleans Area Unit of the American Cancer Society, and the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Cancer Consortium. He has written many research articles for scientific medical publications and is an expert in the treatment of cancer and blood-related disorders.
