Dr. McGovern earned his doctorate of podiatric medicine from Barry University School of Graduate Medical Sciences in May of 2001. He completed his Residency in Podiatric Medicine/Surgery at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York from July 2001 to June 2002 and then completed a surgical residency at Department of Veterans Affairs/Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco, California from June 2002 to July 2004.
Since August 2004, Dr. McGovern spent over 6 years with the Department of Veterans Affairs most recently as Chief of Podiatry at their Anchorage Alaska location. He also founded and ran a private practice in Virginia.
Dr. McGovern is a Fellow with the American College of Lower Extremity Surgeons and an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
