Dr. Costello received his bachelors degree in molecular and cell biology from the University of Connecticut in Storrs, and earned his optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his optometric hospital-based residency at the Boston Veterans Administration Hospital Outpatient Clinic and internships with Dr. Stacy Ayn Lyons in Cambridge and the New England Eye Institute in Boston. He also rotated thru several locations obtaining clinical experience at Leahey Eye Clinic in Lowell, Massachusetts; the Massachusett's Institute of Technology Eye Clinic in Cambridge; the Barnet Dulaney Eye Center in Phoenix, Arizona; and the Dorchester House Multi-Service Center in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Dr. Costello was briefly in private practice in and around Boston before joining Ochsner in 1996. He was awarded memberships in Beta Sigma Kappa, Phi Beta Kappa, and the Golden Key National Honor Societies and is a member of the American Optometric Association. He practices at Ochsner Health Center - Marrero on Lapalco Boulevard on the West Bank.'
