Liz Lopez is a certified athletic trainer who works as a physician extender in the Sport Medicine department for Dr. Scott Montgomery. The northern California native is also the program director of Ochsner’s athletic training residency program. Just prior to joining the Ochsner Sports Medicine team, in the summer of 2010, Lopez completed an athletic training residency at Emory Sports Medicine in Atlanta, GA. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2006, and went on to earn her Master’s degree in Athletic Training from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2009.
