Dr. Wharton earned his medical degree from the LSU Medical School in New Orleans, graduating Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his internship and residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Wharton serves as the New Orleans Section Head for the Dept of Hospital Medicine. He has been on staff at Ochsner since 2002.
