Dr. Ochsner completed his undergraduate degree at Vassar College, NY. He earned his medical degree from LSU in New Orleans and completed a year of hip and knee fellowship surgery at Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Ochsner is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon and has been specializing in hip and knee joint replacement surgery for 20 years. He has been on the board of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and has participated in the research and membership committees. Dr. Ochsner continues to publish and lecture on the outcomes of hip and knee surgery. He has performed over 5,000 joint replacements at Ochsner. Dr. Ochsner was the first surgeon in New Orleans to use the gender specific total knee. He has been trained in all of the newest techniques for minimally invasive surgery and advanced pain control. He uses the most current implants, such as large head metal on metal total hip replacement. He uses computer navigation for Joint Replacement. Ochsner hospital has two dedicated Joint Replacement operating rooms. These have ultra clean air filtration systems to reduce the risk of infection. These are the only two rooms of this type in the region.
