A native of New Orleans, Dr. Winters earned his medical degree from LSU. He completed his internship and surgery training at Ochsner and his urology residency in the combined LSU / Ochsner program where he served as Chief Resident and Assistant Clinical Director at Charity Hospital. He also completed a fellowship in female urology and voiding dysfunction at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. Dr. Winters holds Diplomate certification from the American Board of Urology and has served as the Executive Secretary of the Louisiana State Urological Society. He is a member of the executive committees of the Society of Female Urology and Urodynamics and the Southeastern Section of the American Urologic Association. He is also a member of the American Urologic Association Stress Urinary Incontinence Guidelines Panel, the International Continence Society, the American Urogynecologic Society, and he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Winters holds a Clinical Associate Professorship in Urology at LSU and is the Director of Resident Education and Research for the LSU/Ochsner urology residency training program. An active researcher, Dr. Winters has many scientific medical publications and book chapters to his credit. He has been named one of New Orleans’ top 50 surgeons in 2003. He has also been recognized as a Top Doctors by Castle Connolly in 2002-2004, and recognized by Best Doctors in 2003-2004. He has been on staff at Ochsner since 1996.
