A native New Orleanian and Duke University graduate (where he was an Angier B. Duke Scholar), Dr. Kaye’s M.D. is from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he was Alpha Omega Alpha (Honor Medical Society). After interning at University of Rochester and an orthopaedic residency here at Ochsner, he completed a hand and microsurgery fellowship and a pediatric orthopaedic rotation at the University of Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Kaye is past director of the Ochsner orthopaedic residency program and past chairman of Ochsner orthopaedics. He is a past president of Louisiana Orthopaedic Association, and volunteers as faculty at Tulane Orthopaedics. Dr. Kaye is doubly board certified in both orthopaedics and hand surgery, and has been on the Ochsner senior physician staff since 1979. He was re-nominated as one of New Orleans’ Best Doctors in New Orleans Magazine, August 2001 through August 2008 (most recent issue), and is most proud of his Teacher of the Year Awards for 1979 and again for 2007. His subspecialty interests in orthopaedics are problems of the hand and upper extremity, with and without arthroscopic techniques, and microsurgery.
