John Bowen, III

Dr. Bowen earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his medical degree from the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He completed his surgical internship and residency at Case Western Reserve University and the University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio, followed by a fellowship in blood flow physiology at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. Dr. Bowen is board certified in general and vascular surgery and has been on staff at Ochsner since 1976. His special interests include arterial surgeries of the carotid, aorta, and lower extremities; laparoscopic surgery of the biliary tract and esophagus; and biliary and pancreatic surgery.
