Dr. John Ochsner earned his medical degree from Tulane. He completed surgical residencies at Baylor University Affiliated Hospitals and Texas Children's Hospital where he served a Chief Surgical Resident at each. Dr. Ochsner is board certified in Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, and Vascular Surgery and has been on staff at Ochsner since 1961. His expertise includes heart surgery and heart transplantation and vascular surgery. An international medical leader, Dr. Ochsner has served in many prominent roles including President of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, President of The International Society for Cardiovascular Surgery, and Chairman of the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
