Dr. Brown, a native of New Orleans, graduated summa cum laude in biology from Xavier University of Louisiana. She earned her optometry degree as well as her Master of Science in Vision Science from The Ohio State University in Columbus. She completed clinical rotations at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, and the Columbus Veterans Administration Hospital Outpatient Clinic. Dr. Brown completed her residency at Ochsner focusing on retina, glaucoma, cornea, pediatrics and primary care. She is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry for treatment and management of ocular disease and holds an optometric license with therapeutic privileges in Louisiana. She joined the Ochsner staff in 2001, where she now incorporates glaucoma and contact lenses into her practice of primary care and pediatric optometry. Dr. Brown has been awarded memberships into the Golden Key National Honor Society and Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Fraternity. She is a current member of the Optometric Association of Louisiana and the American Optometric Association. She is the past president of the New Orleans Optometric Society. Dr. Brown practices at the Ochsner Medical Center and at Ochsner Childrens Health Center.
