Dr. Kashimawo earned her medical degree from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife in Nigeria. She completed her internship at the Massey Street Childrens Hospital in Lagos, Nigeria, where she practiced for 3 years before immigrating to the United States. She completed her pediatric residency and fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital. She is board certified in pediatrics and has been on staff at Ochsner since August of 2001 as a pediatric intensivist. Dr. Kashimawo's primary interest is in pediatric organ transplantation and clinical research. She believes critically ill children, however mentally challenging, should be cared for with compassion and respect.'
