Dr. Oates joined Hales Pediatrics in September 2000. She is a graduate of Stanford University and Stanford University School of Medicine and completed her Pediatric Internship and Residency at Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital in Stanford, California. Dr. Oates is certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics. She has been regularly named a “Best Doctor” by New Orleans Magazine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Prior to joining Hales Pediatrics she was a staff physician in the emergency room at Children's Hospital. Dr. Oates cares for both sick and well children in the office and helps with hospital rounds and after-hours call.
She and her husband, Dr. Fred Lopez, are the parents of two children, Emma and Andrew.
