Doctor Michael D. Santone earned his Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is board certified as a Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Prior to joining Ochsner Medical Center, Dr. Santone was an Assistant Professor at Delgado Charity School of Nursing and taught Psychiatric Nursing. He has been working in psychiatric care since 1994 and has experience in healthcare management as well as direct care. Dr. Santone has an extensive background with the adult psychiatric/chemical dependency population, but specializes in Child and Adolescent psychiatric care.
