Dr. Larzelere is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine. She received her training in clinical psychology at LSU in Baton Rouge and completed her internship at the New Orleans Veterans Administration Medical Center, where she participated in post-traumatic stress disorder specialty track. Prior to coming to LSUHSC in 1998, she served as the Director of the Masters and Johnson Trauma Stabilization Program.
Dr. Larzelere’s research interests include health promotion and physician and patient communication. She has been involved in grants examining cognitive behavioral components of disease state management for asthma and diabetes and has also conducted research in the areas of sleep and anxiety disorders. She is also a senior editor for the Family Practice Inquiries Network (FPIN).
