Dr. Bzowej received her doctor of medicine from the University of Toronto Medical School in Canada in 1992. She completed her Residency in Internal Medicine at Wellesley Hospital, Toronto in 1994 and Toronto Hospital in 1995. Her Fellowship in Gastroenterology was at the University of California Hospitals in San Francisco which she completed in 1998. Dr. Bzowej is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1998; by ABIM-Gastroenterology in 2001 and by ABIM-Transplant Hepatology in 2008. Prior to coming to Ochsner, Dr. Bzowej was Director of Clinical Hepatology Research, Liver Transplant Program at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, California.
