Dr. Nathaniel S. Winstead earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Tulane University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA and served for a year as Chief Resident and Clinical Instructor in Internal Medicine. He completed his fellowship and received his MSPH from University of Alabama-Birmingham. Dr. Winstead has been on staff at Ochsner since February 2008 and currently serves as Director of Gastroenterology Clinical Research. Dr. Winsteads special medical interests are endoscopy, liver disease and inflamatory bowel disease. Dr. Winstead is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. In his spare time, Dr. Winstead enjoys fishing, sea kayaking, triathlons and golf. Dr. Winstead has presented and has been an invited speaker at multiple state and national medical meetings.
Dr. Winsteads special medical interests are endoscopy, medical management of chronic pancreatitis, GI motility. and cost-effectiveness research.
