Dr. Parrino graduated from the University of Virginia and attended the Medical College of Georgia, where he earned his medical degree. He returned to the University of Virginia and completed both a General Surgery residency and a Cardiothoracic residency. After completion of his Cardiothoracic residency he was a clinical associate for heart failure and transplantation at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Parrino is board certified in surgery and Cardiothoracic surgery. His areas of expertise include minimally invasive valve surgery, non-transplant heart failure surgery, assist devices, thoracic transplantation and coronary revascularization.
