Dr. Shah received his undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed his internship at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu, ophthalmology residency at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, and a fellowship in cornea and external disease at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. His clinical interests focus on the most advanced techniques related to cataract surgery and intraocular lens technology, corneal transplantation (including DSAEK), and LASER refractive surgery. He is board certified in Ophthalmology, and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. Dr. Shah is a native of Louisiana, having grown up in Opelousas and Lafayette. He and his wife, Natasha, returned to New Orleans in 2007 to join in the city's rebuilding efforts. Dr. Shah practices at the Ochsner main campus and the Ochsner Baptist Medical Center.
