Timothy P. Finney, M.D. received his orthopaedic training at Louisiana State University Medical School. He completed a fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at Sports Medicine West in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Finney has worked with high school, intercollegiate, semi-professional and professional athletics in the Greater New Orleans Area. He was a team physician for the New Orleans Saints football team 1993 - 2010. He was selected as one of the U.S. Olympic team physicians in 1996.
Dr. Finney received the NFL Team Physician Society's Outstanding Team Physician of the Year Award for 2005. He has participated in the training of LSU family practice sports medicine fellows and is a clinical professor at LSU. His interests include sports related injuries and pathology of the shoulder and knee.
