Verne is a native of Houma, Louisiana. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Centenary College of Louisiana in Biology (1997) as well as a Bachelor and Master of Science degree from Northwestern State University in Nursing (2001, 2011). Between his graduation from Centenary and obtaining his nursing degree, Verne worked as a website designer and a computer technician for Prysm Technologies, Inc. and ShreveNet, Inc. in Shreveport Louisiana. Following graduation with his BSN, he worked as an Emergency Department Nurse at Tulane University Medical Center, East Jefferson General, and Willis-Knighton South in Shreveport.
In his free time, Verne enjoys spending time with his partner, Donovan; his Yellow Labrador Retriever, Lady Sophie; and his cat, Squishy.
