Dr. Veronica Gillispie earned her medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee in 2004. She went on to complete her residency training at Ochsner Health System in 2008. During her training, Dr. Gillispie served as Administrative Chief Resident. She also received many accolades during her matriculation including Special Excellence in Endoscopic Procedures and the 2008 Alton Ochsner Resident Leader of the Year. Dr. Gillispie is involved in several community and medical societies. She currently serves as the Louisiana Section Junior Fellow Vice-Chair for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and will soon assume the Chair position. Dr. Gillispie provides care to low and moderate risk obstetrical patients as well as gynecological patients of all ages, especially adolescents. Dr. Gillispie has a special interest in advanced laparoscopic procedures including total laparoscopic hysterectomies, laparoscopic adnexal surgery, and hysteroscopic procedures. Dr. Gillispie is both very dedicated and passionate about resident education. She also has and continues to participate in many clinical research studies.
