Dr. Chi obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Irvine and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, MO. He completed his internship, residency and vascular medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Chi is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Vascular Medicine and the American Board of Phlebology with additional certifications in vascular technology and vascular imaging interpretation by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. He has been on staff at Ochsner since the beginning of 2003. Dr. Chi has published original manuscripts and abstracts in Circulation, Vascular Medicine, and Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, and presented his research works at major national and international meetings such as the American Heart Association and Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics. His research works comprise all aspect of vascular medicine with focus on vascular ultrasound imaging, anti-thrombotic therapy and cellular based/angiogenesis therapy for peripheral arterial disease. Dr. Chi's clinical expertise include vascular ultrasound imaging, computed tomographic angiography, hypercoagulable states, complex arterial, lymphatic and venous disorders. As the first board certified phlebologist in the New Orleans area, Dr. Chi is a regional expert in catheter based endovenous treatment of venous disorders.
