Dr. Gilliland earned her medical degree from the Medical Academy of Wroclaw, Poland. She completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Framingham Union Hospital, (affiliated with Boston University) in Framingham, Mass followed by a fellowship in cardiology at the Boston VA Medical Center/New England Medical Center in Boston Mass. Dr. Gilliland is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases and echocardiography and has been on staff at Ochsner Clinic Foundation since 1990. She is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians and American Society of Echocardiography. Dr. Gilliland specializes in non-invasive imaging, transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, tissue Doppler, stress testing, valvular heart disease, echocardiographic guidance of intracardiac procedures, hypertension and ischemic heart disease.
