Donations & Philanthropy
Over its 70 years of heritage in Louisiana, Ochsner Health System has forged a strong foundation of commitment and caring. Our mission is to save and change lives, and we’re dedicated to providing the highest quality care to our patients in the pursuit of that mission. We believe we’re succeeding, but we couldn’t do it without the help of our generous volunteers and donors. Whatever you can give, however you can give … it’s enough, and we thank you.
Each year, hundreds of volunteers donate thousands of hours to Ochsner patients and their families, staff and programs. From greeting visitors in the lobby to delivering mail to patients to entering data and answering phones, Ochsner volunteers give back in many ways, contributing their distinctive skills and strengths to help Ochsner maintain high standards of excellence in patient care.
Ochsner is one of the largest independent academic health systems in the U.S. and Louisiana’s largest not-for-profit health system. Ochsner was named one of America’s best hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. This is possible only because our contributors’ generosity empowers Ochsner to pursue research, education and innovations in patient care and treatment that set us apart and enable us to advance healthcare for the good of our patients, our community and beyond.
Volunteer blood donors provide all of the blood supply for transfusions throughout the U.S. Every five seconds, donor blood is used to save the lives of babies, leukemia patients, burn victims, trauma patients and so many more. Your blood donation makes the difference.
The physicians and employees of Ochsner are committed to the mission and vision of our founders to provide the highest quality health care to patients and their families, and they show their commitment by annually investing in saving and changing lives. Employee Giving provides support for the programs across Ochsner Health System, touching patients and employees across the Gulf South. Click here to learn more about the Employee Giving Campaign.
