One of Ten in the U.S. to Receive ASCO Clinical Trials Award for Improving Cancer Care
NEW ORLEANS - The Ochsner Cancer Institute is one of only 10 community oncology practices in the country to be for its efforts to improve cancer care through participation in clinical trials. Ochsner has been awarded the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and The ASCO Cancer Foundation ASCO's 2008 Clinical Trial Participation Award which will be presented on June 1, 2008 at ASCO's 44th Annual Meeting in Chicago.

NEW ORLEANS - Spring training is fast approaching and young athletes are preparing for the upcoming season. It's evident that sports and unfortunately, injuries go hand in hand. Injuries sustained in the early teen years can be especially harmful. To help educate young athletes and their parents, Ochsner, Elmwood Fitness Center and the New Orleans Saints are teaming up to host a Hello Health for Athletes seminar on Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at The Saints Training Facility, 5800 Airline Highway in Metairie. Athletes ages 14 and older are invited to attend and reservations are required.

NEW ORLEANS - Staying on track is the motto at Ochsner Baptist Medical Center (OBMC). Today, the facility is holding true to its promise by offering new OB/GYN services and will soon open a Laser Vision Center at the Uptown campus. On May 5, 2008, Drs. Elizabeth Lapeyre, Jerry St. Pierre, William Sargent and Margaret Roberie will begin seeing patients at the Baptist campus in Suite 400 of the Women's Pavilion. In addition, the Laser Vision Center, under the direction of Dr. Pulin Shah, will begin patient consultations in May 2008 and actual procedures in June 2008.
