NEW ORLEANS – Ochsner Multi-Organ Transplant Institute welcomes new hepatologist, Dr. Gia Tyson, to their staff. Dr. Tyson, a native of Louisiana, earned her medical degree at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. Dr. Karen Rice Receives Study Grant from ANF

Karen Rice, DNS, APRN, ACNS-BC, ANP, Director of the Center for Nursing Research, has been awarded a $7,500 grant by the American Nurses Foundation to conduct a clinical trial to determine if a multicomponent intervention improves delirium outcomes in patients who have had strokes. Delirium is a frequent complication in hospitalized older adults, affecting more than 2.3 million and responsible for 17.5 million additional hospital days with a projected cost of $1.3 trillion by 2020.
