Carcinoid Program for Patients with Difficult-to-Diagnose Tumors

KENNER, LA Ochsner Medical Center Kenner announced today the opening of its Carcinoid Program, specializing in the treatment of difficult-to-diagnose, slow-growing neuroendocrine, malignant tumors. This program is a collaborative effort between Ochsner and LSUs Stanley Scott Cancer Center, and is led by a team of the countrys top experts. Neuroendocrine tumors are rare and typically found in the gut. They occur in approximately 1.5 people per 100,000 in the general population (i.e., 2,500 cases/year in the U.S.) The Ochsner Carcinoid Program is one of only…
