NEW ORLEANS, LA Ochsner Health System announced today the hiring of three new management executives: Mitch Wasden Vice President of Ochsner Medical Center Baton Rouge. Mitch graduated from University of Michigan with a Masters Degree in Health Administration and is currently completing doctoral studies in executive leadership and organizational theory at George Washington University. One-Year Study Suggests Stents May Treat PAD and Prevent Restenosis

NEW ORLEANS, LA Today, at the American Heart Association meeting in Chicago, Ochsner Cardiology Fellow Dr. Arthur G. Grant, M.D., presented study findings that found drug-coated stents may be a feasible and safe treatment option to maintain blood flow through tiny clogged vessels in the lower leg. Treating clogged arteries in the lower leg is difficult due to the size of the arteries, plaque build up, and re-clogging frequency known as restenosis explains Dr. Grant. Carcinoid Program for Patients with Difficult-to-Diagnose Tumors

KENNER, LA Ochsner Medical Center Kenner announced today the opening of its Carcinoid Program, specializing in the treatment of difficult-to-diagnose, slow-growing neuroendocrine, malignant tumors. This program is a collaborative effort between Ochsner and LSUs Stanley Scott Cancer Center, and is led by a team of the countrys top experts. Neuroendocrine tumors are rare and typically found in the gut.
