"Hello Health" Community Event at Red Maple in Gretna
NEW ORLEANS – As with most cancers, the best chance for surviving colon cancer is by detecting it early. Each year, around 150,000 Americans are diagnosed with colon cancer in the form of a colorectal tumor. Annual screenings can save lives as there is nearly a 90 percent chance for a cure when it is found in early stages. To educate patients on colon cancer and the importance of regular screenings, Ochsner will host a Hello Health seminar on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at 12:00 p.m. at Red Maple Restaurant, 1036 Lafayette Street in Gretna, LA, 70053. Dr. Abdul Kahn, Gastroenterologist at Ochsner Medical Center – Westbank will be the guest speaker. The cost is $15 and lunch is included. Reservations are required. To register, call 1-866-OCHSNER (1-866-624-7637) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
