"I Can Do It" Fundraiser Helps Combat Growing Epidemic
WHAT: Elmwood Fitness Center, a service of Ochsner, will host its 4th Annual Youth Fitness Rock & Ride Event, a fun-filled family event to benefit the "I Can Do It" Program. Each participant can attend a 45- minute spin class outdoors with live music by 5 Finger Discount, and enjoy food and drinks before and after the class. This event is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Spin classes will be taught by Elmwood instructors while the band plays live music for all ages to enjoy. WHEN: Saturday, November 15, 2008 Classes will be held at 9:00am, 10:00am, and 11:00am WHERE: Elmwood Fitness Center Outdoor Basketball Court 1200 S. Clearview Parkway, Suite 1200 Harahan, LA 70123 WHAT: The entry fee is $35 per class, and includes a t-shirt and goodie bag. Proceeds from Rock & Ride will help the "I Can Do It" program award scholarships to families in financial need who demonstrate an interest in fighting childhood obesity. Elmwood's "I Can Do It" Program is a weight-loss program designed to help children and families lead a healthy lifestyle. Entry deadline is Friday, November 7th.
