Elmwood Fitness Center is renewing its reality weight loss program as it localizes "The Biggest Loser" in New Orleans beginning February 2nd for individuals 18 years and older. And, the last day to sign up is Friday, January 29, 2009. Trainers and nutritionists at Elmwood are offering local residents the opportunity to drop pounds and inches, and establish a long-term lifestyle plan that will help keep the pounds off. Pre-testing for the 10-week program begins January 26, 2009; cost is $200 for Elmwood members and $400 for non-members.
"Most people view diets or weight loss techniques in a negative light, so we sought to develop a program that would be fun, competitive, and encourages life-long health habits and lifestyle choices," says Dr. Matthew McQueen, Elmwood's Medical Director and Sports Medicine/Family Practice Physician at Ochsner. "This is the second season of Elmwood's Biggest Loser."
Additional support will include a personal weight loss success story from Biggest Loser participant Chris Clement, who will be the keynote speaker on opening night, January 26, 2009, where he will present his over 75-pound weight loss story.
