Call to Register for this "Hello Health" Community Event at Keith Young's Steak House in Madisonville, LA
NEW ORLEANS - The Center for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that there are 300,000 sports concussions among children each year. Car accidents and falls are other leading causes for concussions. Once considered minor conditions, concussions are now being recognized as serious medical problems with potentially permanent consequences. And, new research indicates children and teens are more vulnerable than adults, because their brains are less developed and take longer to heal. To educate patients about managing concussions in children and teens, Ochsner Health System is hosting a Hello Health seminar on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at 6:00pm at Keith Young's Steak House located at 165 Highway 21 in Madisonville, Louisiana. Dr. Aaron Karlin, Section Head, Pediatrics, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Ochsner Health Center Covington will be the guest speaker. The cost is $15 and dinner is included. Reservations are required. To register, call 1-866-OCHSNER (1-866-624-7637) between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday through Friday.
