Ronald G. Amedee, M.D., Chairman Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery, Ochsner Medical Center, was the recent recipient of a Presidential Citation and named Guest of Honor at the 2009 Meeting of the Triological Society on January 8-11, 2009 in Bonita Springs, FL. Dr. Amedee was honored for his many years of service to the Society and to the specialty of Otolaryngology. This award was given for many years of outstanding patient care, education of residents and students in the specialty, countless contributions to the peer reviewed literature, and for Dr. Amedee's service on the editorial boards of otolaryngology journals.
The American Laryngological, Rhinological and Otological Society, Inc., also known as The Triological Society, was founded in 1895 in New York, NY. In the 113 years since its founding, the Triological Society has attracted the best and brightest in academic and clinical otolaryngology. Membership in the Triological Society brings the distinction of being elected to the most prestigious society in otolaryngology. Active Fellowship is achieved by presenting a thesis in the field of otolaryngology considered acceptable to a panel of peers. Dr. Amedee was elected to Active Fellowship in May 1994.
