NEW ORLEANS, LA Ochsner cardiologists are doing their part to rebuild the citys medical education efforts and increase tourism by hosting the 16th annual All That Jazz Cardiology Conference this week, May 14, 2007 at the Marriott Hotel, 555 Canal Street, during Jazz Fest. The All That Jazz Conference attracts over 600 cardiologists world-wide with its opportunities to earn continuing medical education credit, learn the latest in interventional cardiology techniques, and visit New Orleans historical French Quarter and experience the citys unique flavor, explains Dr. Stephen Ramee, Director of the Ochsner Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Ochsner is expecting physicians from 45 states, as well as Mexico and Europe. Dr. Ramee goes on to say that, On the heels of the American College of Cardiology Conference, the worlds largest cardiology meeting which attracted 30,000 visitors to the city (March 24-27), All That Jazz will showcase continuing efforts to bring back medical education and research to the New Orleans area post-Katrina. In addition to CME credit, this medical education symposium will also highlight interventional cardiology techniques and treatments with live procedures and demonstrations. Discussion topics include: carotid intervention, renal intervention, anti-platelet therapy, medical therapies to prevent atherosclerosis and heart disease.
