Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank Campus & NOLA Baby Magazine Partner to Educate New Moms
HARVEY, LA - On Saturday, June 6, 2009, from 11am-2pm, Ochsner will host a FREE Mommy-To-Be Expo at Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank Campus, 2500 Belle Chasse Highway. When its time to welcome your new baby, moms and dads want to be close to their physician, so Ochsner is inviting West Bank future mom's to tour the OMC-West Bank Campus Labor and Delivery suites and Mother-Baby Units, along with the latest baby accessories by local vendors.
"Ochsner's goal is to invite our neighbors and local families to see and utilize the many "new mom" resources that exist within the West Bank community," said Joan Rooney, RN, Director of Women's and Neonatal Services at the Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank Campus. "We hope to help prepare future and new moms for their newborn, from car seat safety seminars to nutritional lectures to post-pregnancy advice," says Rooney.
Future and new parents will have the opportunity to attend seminars on breast feeding, infant and pregnancy massages and pets and newborns at the event. Moms will have the chance to register for Ochsner Lamaze classes and prenatal classes and door prizes will be given away every half hour.
