Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank Offers Free Health Screenings
NEW ORLEANS - Join Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank on Saturday, November 3 on the West Bank - Algiers Point for The Ochsner Jazz Walk of Fame. The celebrations begin with a Fun Run at 8:00am, followed by the annual 5K Race at 9:00am, and health screenings for the public.
"Ochsner is proud to be this year's Jazz Walk of Fame title sponsor and support the West Bank's continued revitalization," says Mike O'Bryan, MD, Chief Executive Officer of Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank. "In addition to supporting our community, Ochsner is working to keep residents healthy during the holiday season by offering free health screenings."
OMC-WB's nursing staff will offer free blood pressure checks and body mass index screenings. "Participants in the health screening and race will receive free pedometers and water bottles as an added incentive to keep their waists trim during holiday celebrations and year round," says Lisa Coletti, RN, Assistant Vice President of Nursing at Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank.
The race is put on by the Blue Knight's Men's Club and individuals can pick up race forms at the following locations:
- PJ's Coffee House - 4100 General DeGaulle Drive
- Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank - 2500 Belle Chasse Highway. Gretna
- The Holy Name of Mary School - 502 Olivier Street, Algiers
- George Cox Elementary School - 2630 Belle Chasse Highway
Or participants can register the day of the race at 7:00am at Mardi Gras World in Algiers. Entry fees are $15.00 per person.
