FREE Health Screenings, "Ask a Doctor" Seminars and Facility Tours
KENNER, LA - Every woman deserves to thrive and for many, that means taking better care of yourself, getting plenty of exercise, learning about good health habits and how to manage stress. Ochsner Medical Center - Kenner aims to help women achieve these goals by hosting the event "Nurturing Your Health from Seedlings to Full Bloom" on Wednesday, April 14, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Medical Office Building, Suite 501, at Ochsner Medical Center - Kenner, 200 West Esplanade Avenue, and will include facility tours, "Ask a Doctor" seminars, free health screenings and door prizes.
"Many women are busy juggling their families, their career and their social life, that often times, they put off taking good care of themselves," says Dr. Michael Cohen, Ochsner Medical Center - Kenner OB/GYN. "We're hosting this free event because we want to help local women understand how to take better care of themselves, so they can keep up with their busy lifestyle and feel better doing it," he adds.
The "Nurturing Your Health" event for girls and women of all ages will highlight healthy living, fitness and information on common health screenings and when women should be screened. "Ask a Doctor" seminars will cover topics like Prenatal Care, Safe Sex Practices, Urinary System, GI Health, Coping with Menopause, Menstrual Cycle Facts, Breast Health, Birth Control Options, Lactation, Having a Baby, and Varicose and Spider Veins Options.
Free health screenings available at the event will include Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Glucose, Bone Density, and Varicose and Spider Vein screenings for women who fall into the correct age restrictions for these screenings.
