Becker’s Hospital Review recently named Ochsner Medical Center among the 100 top hospitals in the country in three different specialty areas, including women’s health, orthopedics and heart care.

Ochsner Medical Center was recognized on Becker's Hospital Review’s 2014 list of “100 Hospitals With Great Heart Programs,” which recognizes hospitals based on their heart programs' recognition for quality of care, clinical awards and research contributions to cardiovascular care.
The John Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute’s physicians performed the Gulf South's first heart transplant in 1970 and first percutaneous aortic valve replacement in 2010. The center recently earned a place on the U.S. News & World Report's list of top 50 hospitals for heart care and cardiac surgery. It is also a Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction Center for cardiac care.

Ochsner Medical Center Named one of “100 Hospitals With Great Women's Health Programs”
Becker's Hospital Review recognized Ochsner Medical Center on its 2013 list of “100 Hospitals With Great Women's Health Programs," which acknowledges hospitals that offer outstanding women’s health programs, such as gynecology, obstetrics, reproductive medicine and other women's health needs.
Ochsner’s obstetrics and gynecology program offers services for pregnancy, gynecologic cancers, infertility and menopause. The center also includes a vulva center that focuses on the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of vulvovaginal problems. The Lieselotte Tansey Breast Center at Ochsner Medical Center provides diagnostic services as well as treatments for breast cancer. Women's healthcare services at the hospital also include female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. The medical center was named one of the top 100 hospitals for women's health in 2013 by CareChex.

Becker's Hospital Review recognized Ochsner Medical Center on its list of “100 Hospitals With Great Orthopedic Programs.” These hospitals, which are selected based on clinical accolades, quality care and contributions to the field of orthopedics, have exceptional orthopedic departments that provide outstanding patient care and advance cutting-edge orthopedic research.
Ochsner Medical Center's orthopedic department includes more than 20 orthopedic surgeons, each of whom has completed a clinical fellowship. Ochsner is also a research and learning hub, offering patients clinical trials, interventional studies and an orthopedic residency program. The hospital received Healthgrades' 2014 Joint Replacement Excellence Award for its superior outcomes in hip and knee surgeries, and it was also named as one of the 50 top hospitals in the country for orthopedics care by U.S. News & World Report in 2013.
