Action-Packed Event Raises Money to Aid Families of Sick Children
NEW ORLEANS - Get ready, tweens! Hannah Montana star and Wind-Up Records recording artist Emily Osment is flying in to New Orleans to perform a special one-hour concert in City Park to benefit the Ochsner Pediatric Family Assistance Fund. It's the party to kick off the summer!
On Saturday, May 21, from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Ochsner Health System will present its 6th annual family event benefitting Ochsner's Pediatric Family Assistance Fund. This year's event, Party in the Park, will feature Emily Osment of Hannah Montana fame live in concert in City Park's Amusement Park. The concert and unlimited amusement park rides are only $40 per person, thanks to title sponsor Capital One Bank. Ochsner's Pediatric Family Assistance Fund helps families cope with the financial pressures that can arise during children's hospital stays.
"This very special event will provide financial support for programs supporting families and children cared for by Ochsner Pediatrics," said Dr. Daniel Bronfin, Vice Chairman of Pediatrics. "Families of the children admitted to our intensive care units and pediatric wards will benefit from these funds. In addition, it will support our child life program which helps our young patients understand and cope with their medical problems while making their stay as comfortable as possible."
Emily Osment is best-known for playing Lilly Truscott on Disney Channel's Emmy-nominated Hannah Montana and Gerti Giggles in the Spy Kids movie sequels. Though only 18, Osment has been making music almost as long as she has been acting and she co-wrote every song on her Wind-up Records debut, Fight or Flight.
